Organic Stoneground Flour now available at Unwrapped
We are excited to stock stoneground flour from Worsborough Mill in Barnsley.
They are using traditional techniques - French Burr millstones driven by water power – to mill UK grown organic grain as locally as sourcing allows (currently their furthest grower is 110 miles from the mill). You can visit the mill and see it working too!
We currently have wholemeal wheat flour, white wheat flour, spelt flour and rye flour in our scoop bins at Valley Organics Unwrapped (31 Market Street). Bring your own bag or container and buy as much as you need.
The wheat flours are less gluten content than a hard wheat, such as north American varieties, but are perfectly suitable for bread, both yeasted and sourdough, and for cake and biscuit making too. Our ellie has also had great success with 100% sourdough rye and sourdough spelt breads.
